The phrase “More Music Less Talk” has become synonymous with celebrity DJ, Sounds 4 Life, as he is part of a limited edition of disc jockeys that let the music do the talking. Marlon Baptiste started playing music as a hobby, at the age of 12, mentored by his relatives Jansen and Hess, he would play at functions for close friends and family in his birth country of Trinidad and Tobago. His love and passion for music was evident, and after migrating to the US it was no surprise that he emerged into New York’s limelight as a professional disc jockey.
His sobriquet Sounds 4 Life originates from his belief that music is life. Dubbed the "Silent Assassin" because of his ability to transform any standing crowd into a frenzy. He skillfully and effortlessly mixes, breaks, cuts, slices, and reinvents every song while he's in his zone, creating a never-ending melody that forces young and old to move. A genuine master of the craft, Sounds 4 Life works carnivals and events throughout the year, including Trinidad and Tobago, Washington DC's, Toronto, Brooklyn's Labor Day Parade, Jamaica, Bermuda, and Miami.
In 2008, Sounds 4 Life expanded the brand and added promoter to his repetoire. Along with his mentors Hess and Jansen, Sounds 4 Life launched their first event "C’est la Vie", an ultimate breakfast boat cruise that’s held the Sunday after New York’s Labor Day festivities. In the spring of 2010, they launched "Pure" an all-white affair that signifies the true essence of their motto: Pure vibes, Pure energy, and Pure satisfaction. To end off a successful year of events, Sounds 4 Life executed Fade 2 Black, the all-black gala. C’est la Vie, Pure, and Fade 2 Black are now, highly anticipated annual events.
